それは我々人類が共有するものの大きさに気づかせてくれた、という点につきるだろう。
今回の侵略は、この惑星で共に生きるのがういうことかを、新たなる視点から見直させてくれた。
人間同士の無数の差異など瑣末事でしかないことを痛感させ、共通の利益というものの意味を実感させてくれた。
そしてさらに、歴史の方向を変え、人間であることがどういうことかをも定義し直してくれた。
今日このときより、世界の諸民族と諸国家がいかに深く相互に依存しあっているかを、我々は決して忘れることがないだろう。
諸君は日本を愛し、この日本を守り抜くために自らの才能と技術を差し出し、命すら投げ出す覚悟を固めている。
諸君と共に戦列に立てることを、私は心から誇りに思う。
３月１１日は日本の祝日だけではなく、地球上のあらゆる国家が肩を組み、こう叫ぶ日となるだろう。

Good morning.
In less than an hour, aircraft from here will join others from around the world. And you will be launching the largest aerial battle in this history of mankind.
Mankind -- that word should have new meaning for all of us today.
We can't be consumed by our petty differences anymore.
We will be united in our common interests.
Perhaps it's fate that today is the 4th of July, and you will once again be fighting for our freedom, not from tyranny, oppression, or persecution -- but from annihilation.
We're fighting for our right to live, to exist.
And should we win the day, the 4th of July will no longer be known as an American holiday,
but as the day when the world declared in one voice:
" We will not go quietly into the night!
We will not vanish without a fight!
